It's all in the timing

04 December 2009

Every day more than 36,000 people pass through the doors of Auckland Airport while 12,000 staff from a variety of organisations make sure the experience is as smooth and painless as possible.

The Every Minute Matters aimed to save time and increase productivity in all areas of the airport, inviting employees to submit an idea with a short video for judging.

From September, submissions came flooding in with ideas ranging from a new phone service to wholesale improvements in passenger processing.

A total of 77 entries were whittled down to five winners, and the supreme EMMy winner received their prize at a grand gala EMMy night on December 3.
